Noodles used in the Nagashi Somen

Water Flume

Flume carries clear water that the Nagashi somen (flowing noodles) flow down.

Catching the Noodles

Diners pluck the flowing noodles out of the flume with their chopsticks and dip them in tsuyu before eating. Catching the noodles requires a fair amount of dexterity.

Waiting Patiently

Students using chopsticks to pluck the Nagashi Somen from the flute.
